Freshly graduated with a master's degree from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, the Brussels-by-adoption drummer Raphaël Aurand presents intimate, soft, and collective music with his ensemble Musical Gathering. Inspired by the writings of Aja Monet and the new American West Coast scene, he proposes a horizontal vision of an ensemble born from the heritage of African-American jazz. Co-leader of the group HYPERCONTENT! where he is known for his extremely cheerful and electric playing, Raphaël invites us to discover a more refined, soft, and figurative aspect of his music. Admirably surrounded by musicians with whom he shares a very beautiful affinity both on stage and off, the drummer proposes music where the collective prevails over the individual, where the celebration of softness prevails over the race for heat.
