Limit to your care

Limit to your care stages a Love doll, a human-sized woman-doll. This creation explores our relationship with these realistic dolls by questioning our bond with others and our modes of attachment. Limit to your care invites the public to witness the manipulation of a "love doll" on stage. On stage, each of the five performers maintains, without speaking, a singular relationship with this inert silicone female body. Witnesses to these interactions, the spectators are sent back to their opinions, their interpretations, and their feelings. Elsa Chêne exposes the underlying issues linked to the existence and production of this type of object in our contemporary societies. In a ballet of gestures and movements, the director shows the possible and sometimes unexpected uses of this doll-object, but also the palette of reactions it arouses: amusement, fascination, trouble, or even rejection. Limit to your care is an invitation to probe our collective imaginations and their impact on reality, to question the degree of objectification at work in our intimate relationships. The show highlights the gray areas and evokes structural dominations, to think about how loneliness can also become the instrument of consumerism.
