Laurène Marx, Rok & Dudu : "The sun also rises for the losers"

We prepared a set of words chanted to epic, new wave, cold wave, variety sounds. Avec Rok & Dudu my two friends, I am going to talk about the same thing as usual but by taking up the form that I have been missing for a long time, that of music, just to complete my rock star cassos panoply. It is a sequence of texts in music and without music that talk about social workers, precariousness, trashy moment drugs, cash converters, and the importance of politics and political engagement to free speech and those inside whom speech is sometimes locked up, for lack of cultural capital or exposure to political rhetoric. I wanted a poetry that was not vague and evanescent but direct and raw, without much room for interpretation and music that was a reflection of my beauf, geek, and queer culture. — Laurène Marx Laurène Marx, trans non-binary author and performer is today an essential voice of contemporary theater. Sur Instagram, she publishes chronicles mixing social observations, intimate confidences, outbursts, and black humor, in a lively and unvarnished language. Rok & Dudu Emerging from militant, queer, and independent scenes, Rok & Dudu shape music on the margins, both raw and attentive, crossed by tensions as much as by a form of tenderness, between autotuned rap, electronic textures, techno rhythms, and punk bursts. Their music does not scream, it reveals a world that we traverse together, sometimes sideways, but always alive.
