Abel Ghekiere - live

From this autumn, we are organizing a concert regularly together with the colleagues of CC De Ster in Willebroek in ’t Veerhuis, which has recently been in the hands of the organizers behind Fête Magique. New music by young makers in an inspiring place, just across the water. Abel Ghekiere throws minimalist jazz, folk, and field recordings into the mixer and serves it as a refreshing, elusive whole. On his second album ‘In de verte, dit uitzicht’, he explores a world of openness, softness, and euphoria. His intuitive, minimalist songwriting is inspired by names like Nils Økland, Sufjan Stevens, and Caroline. Originally a guitarist, but with clarinet and banjo as loyal companions in the studio and on stage, he creates a sound that follows its own path.
