Tatreez is traditional Palestinian embroidery. For centuries, women have gathered to embroider, passing down patterns, stories, and knowledge from generation to generation. The colorful motifs tell stories of origin and identity. Today, tatreez is also a powerful symbol of Palestinian culture and connection. In 2021, it was recognized as intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO. During this workshop, you will discover the stories behind the patterns and learn to make the first stitches yourself. You need no experience: everyone can join. The workshop is guided by Carmen, co-founder of Antwerp for Palestine and passionate about Palestijns borduurwerk. November 7th | 3 PM €15 Grab your needle and thread and join in. Together we create space for creativity, encounters, and stories. Sign up, take a seat at the embroidery hoop, and discover the power of tatreez for yourself!
