Let yourself be carried away by the powerful combination of music and Palestinian poetry. The Het Brussels Brecht-Eisler Choir (BBEK) performs The Singer of Wind and Rain, a suite of five songs by composer Gregory Youtz, based on poems by well-known Palestinian poets from the 20th century. The poems tell of daily life under occupation, but also of sumud: the strength to persevere, to preserve your identity, and to keep hoping and dreaming. The original Arabic poems are recited by the Palestijnse Areen Sweetat. BBEK uses music as a voice against injustice and for solidarity with Palestine. The choir has been committed to Palestine for years and is making its voice heard today as well. Come and listen to a special interplay of music, words, and voices. A short concert that touches and invites connection. Duration: 25 minutes Everyone welcome!
