This night again, there will be dozens of them calling. A lonely worker, a curious teenager, a visionary in distress, a burglar on the run, a prisoner on leave, a porn cinema usherette, a religious person in doubt… And many others who whisper confessions, blues, revolts, and secrets to the night radio airwaves.
And then there is this voice that listens to them, this voice that advises them, this voice that reassures them. And then there is us, those who listen without intervening. That night, the voices intertwine, the stories cross, the narratives interlock to draw the portrait of our contemporary society.
In "Ligne ouverte", everything is true. Every word was said during night-time radio shows of the 70s-80s, hosted among others by Max Meynier, Macha Béranger, Gonzague Saint-Bris… And each of the testimonies offered is a small piece of a mosaic of humanity.
"Ligne ouverte" is the first theatrical project of the young director Vassili Schémann.
Based on "Ligne ouverte au coeur de la nuit", a novel by Gonzague Saint-Bris, as well as other excerpts from night radio shows.
