Nikola Meeuwsen shines with Rachmaninoff - Marc Albrecht, Nikola Meeuwsen

Pianist Nikola Meeuwsen made an inimitable impression during the Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd in 2025, and since then his career has taken off. He rounded off his passage at the prestigious competition with a tour along the largest concert halls in the country together with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and conductor Marc Albrecht. Now they meet again in the compelling Second piano concerto by Rachmaninov, a true audience favorite. Marc Albrecht is known for his ability to make Wagner's music sound transparent and clear, and selected his favorite works by the German opera composer for this concert. This concert gives the Jubilee weeks on the occasion of the ten-year existence of the Koningin Elisabethzaal extra luster. This concert starts with a Jonge Impuls: a brand new work by an up-and-coming composer. In this new series, young talents under the mentorship of Annelies Van Parys are commissioned to write a short work for the orchestra.
