SEW WHAT is the first theater performance by Sam Beddegenoodts about the existential crisis that can arise in a fitting room.
On Friday, November 20, SEW WHAT premieres at hetpaleis.
In this theater performance, costume designer Sam Beddegenoodts investigates the existential tension that can take place inside a fitting room. Costume is given an active role as a co-player in an absurdist world, inspired by forgotten fashion trends and the distorted aesthetics of TikTok dystopias.
In a context where the supply of clothing is endless and trends succeed each other faster and faster, the performance asks the question: how do you still make choices in an over-stimulated fashion landscape and what does that choice say about who you are?
SEW WHAT is a production by MoMu, in co-production with PerPodium and in collaboration with hetpaleis. With thanks to Stormkop and Man OverBoord. This production was created with the support of EventFlanders.
