As part of the Festival "Les Mots bring us Together", the Cultural Centres and the Bibliothèques de Dison and of Verviers are relaunching their exhibition dedicated to travelling words. A journey into the heart of the French language and its mixed origins.
There are 300 million of us who speak the French language! That makes for long conversations! The scale of the Francophonie is impressive, but how did this come about? On what historical, political, and geographical foundation was this reality built? How did the French language spread beyond our borders? Besides, do linguistic borders even exist? And what about the other languages that have enriched the one we call "Langue de Molière"? Through this exhibition, we will discover together that languages are true living organisms that are perpetually enriched by diverse influences.
