The famous actress Derya and her husband Aziz, professor of drama, lead a happy life in Ankara together with their daughter. But when an incident during the premiere of their new play suddenly confronts them with the arbitrariness of the Turkish state, everything changes. They are forced to give up their jobs and leave their house. They try to build a new life with Bij Aziz's mother in Istanbul. Derya views the situation pragmatically, while Aziz continues to hold on to his ideals. Met Yellow Letters brings Oscar-nominated director Ilker Çatak (Das Lehrerzimmer) a sizzling thriller about artistic freedom, political repression, and the pressure that an authoritarian system can put on a family.
