An absurd-utopian universe of soft creatures in a deserted future world. The year 3400. The sun no longer rises, the grass has disappeared. The earth is at rest and will only awaken again after an unknown number of years. In this ‘meantime’, the gummies are the last living creatures. Softly murmuring, they tell of something that once was and something that is yet to come ... GUMMI imagines a utopian, alienating universe without conflict or major stakes. You observe the daily rituals of peaceful creatures in a no-man's-land where everything seems exactly as it is. Ballet Dommage is the theater collective of house artist Maxim Storms and Katrien Valckenaers. Together with director Suze Milius, they investigate the small, absurd sides of human behavior. The gummies live in peace and quiet. They chuckle, toil, amuse themselves, crawl close together, searching for warmth doze off and now and then trot around recklessly. They are sometimes grim but after devouring a tasty bite, they leave the dispute behind again. They whine and cry in the depths, tell in soft murmurs and cackles about something that once was and is yet to come.
