The Whore Earth

LA PUTA TIERRA is the 4th youth production by theater, dance, and circus company fABULEUS that is made entirely on Limburg soil and with a Limburg cast. Earlier youth productions were SNAP xl in 2018, We Go Places in 2021, and Beyond the Edge in 2024. The story begins as a blank sheet. Eight young people from diverse backgrounds will color it in – each with their own language, story, memory, and history. While outside the walls of the theater misunderstanding, miscommunication, and prejudice rage, inside they create a brave space where differences are precisely allowed to be highlighted. In this way, LA PUTA TIERRA, Spanish for 'the cursed earth', wants to color in the growing fear around migration and 'the other': by giving a voice to the generation growing up straddled between 'here' and 'there'. The young performers were selected in the spring of 2026 during auditions in the participating cultural centers, including C-mine. The makers are also no strangers at C-mine: Samuel (Valor Reyes), Nata (Mandaria), and Inci (Gül Civelekoglu) were already C-mine residents in the summer of 2023 within the framework of The Age of Us, a takeover by emerging artists.
