Funny, honest, and deeply human: I Swear tells the inspiring, true story of John Davidson, a pioneer whose honesty and humor helped the world better understand what it means to live with Tourette's syndrome. John grows up with Tourette's syndrome in Galashiels, Scotland, during the eighties. A time when the condition is still barely known. His tics and the involuntary expression of inappropriate words are sometimes received with a smile, but more often with annoyance or misunderstanding. Yet he does not let that stop him: by making himself vulnerable and starting the conversation, he challenges his environment to look beyond the unknown. Regisseur Kirk Jones, specializing in social comedies, also brings a light tone to the heartbreaking drama here. Unexpectedly, 'I Swear' won two BAFTAs (best actor and best casting).
