Participate in a free guided tour during the opening weekend of Sits. Between Craftsmanship and Controversy.
During this introductory tour, a MoMu guide immerses you in the story of Sits. Between Craftsmanship and Controversy. MoMu explores how textile traditions preserve and transmit cultural stories across generations, with a special focus on chintz.
The colorful, hand-painted and printed cotton fabrics from India—known as chintz—are once again among the most admired textile traditions in the world. Drawing on the archives and historical textile collection of MoMu, this exhibition examines textiles as a carrier of memory, trade, politics, and shared history. At the center are hand-painted and printed cotton floral fabrics from India, which show how techniques, motifs, and craftsmanship preserve and transmit cultural stories across generations.
