On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Restos du Cœur, Yves Hunstad resurrects Gilbert on stage, a character created in 1985 and laden with awards. Gilbert on stage is a swan song. He is a poor guy who would have been pushed onto the stage of a café-theater. He tells us about the unimportant details of his life as a lonely printing employee. Nothing but the banal, apparently. And then from failed jokes to anecdotes, Gilbert reveals himself, gets carried away and ignites, and what he says is no longer trivial.
Between hope and reality, between laughter and tears, this monologue adored by the Belgians, the itinerary of a rebel on legs trying to remain himself in the face of the complexity of the world, Yves Hunstad dedicated it to his father, born in Congo to a Congolese mother and a Norwegian father.
