Presentation of Van Acker Prijs to Kurt DEFRANCQ - performance of theater monologue 'The DOLL DOCTOR'

On Nov. 13, 26, the Van Acker Stichting Brugge presents its 3-yearly Van Acker Prijs to Kurt DEFRANCQ for his social engagement as a stage actor, author, and driving force of the 'Kurt Defrancqhuis in Baarle-Drongen. Following this presentation, Defrancq performs his theater monologue 'De Poppendokter'. This piece is about the relationship between a Jewish girl, whose parents were deported in WWII, and the son of a collaboration family. The girl is saved by being placed with a family in the countryside. The son had the girl's doll in his possession. Years later, the girl walks into the shop of the son, who has since become a doll doctor, and finds her doll there. A story with an intense experience of love, friendship, and wonder/reflection.
