Shabo – Optimiste – BXL sur Scènes

Freedom is the meeting point of Shabo's energies. Solar, resolutely optimistic, radiantly melancholic, Bénédicte Chabot alias Shabo, interweaves genres to share her refreshing blend of French chanson and modern pop. She draws us into a world where humor and gravity, tenderness and lucidity answer one another. Author, composer, performer, and actress, Shabo is a regular on Belgian and French stages. With this project, she plows a more personal furrow. She finds her inspiration notably near Keren Ann and Camille, Clara Luciani, Françoise Hardy, Gainsbourg, Benjamin Biolay, L. or else Bach, Chopin and Blanche Gardin. Bénédicte Chabot is a Belgian actress, singer, and musician. She has strung together musical and theatrical projects on Belgian and French stages. Singer for Vaches Aztèques and Monsieur Smits, violinist for Sibel, the SHABO project was born from the desire to find her own sound and open her window to the world. Her encounters led her to collaborate with François Willemaers (Va à la plage, Benji Lali) and Daniel Vincke (Kiss and Drive, Matthias Bressan, Ivan Tirtiaux, Matthieu Thonon) for composition as well as Cédric Van Caillie (Balimurphy, Marie Warnant, Ostinto Blues) for bass and arrangements for the stage. Since then, they have also accompanied her on stage as a duo or trio. - as part of BXL sur Scènes 2026
