VIVALDI, THE 4 SEASONS - Canens Strijkkwartet and An-Sofie Perneel

Het Canens Strijkkwartet, together with soloist An-Sofie Perneel, takes you on an intimate musical morning through the four seasons. In a chamber music setting, Vivaldi’s sparkling baroque sounds, in which each season shows its own color and character, followed by Piazzolla’s fiery Vier Seizoenen van Buenos Aires, in which tango and rhythm bring the Argentine seasons to life. The program concludes with the subdued and emotional Kol Nidrei, which rounds off the musical journey as a contemplative “winter”. Together, the quartet and soloist bring an expressive and versatile interpretation of seasonal music through the centuries. Het Canens Kwartet consists of Kasper Delrue, Lotte De Munck, David Blanco de Paz and Ceres Lauwers. They met during their studies at the Conservatorium van Antwerpen with Guy Danel, and have been continuing their education at the Orpheus Instituut since 2025. Canens plays both a classical repertoire and contemporary music and loves combining styles. The ensemble performed at Bozar, De SINGEL, DE KLAP, and Zomerfabriek, and is involved in the outreach program of Bozar, with which they bring classical music to, among others, Brussels street youth and Fedasil. An-Sofie Perneel got to know the members of the Canens Kwartet during various youth and student orchestras. With broad experience as a soloist and passionate chamber musician, she performs the solo parts of Vivaldi and Piazzolla in this program and joins the quartet with great enthusiasm.
