Family@TenDuinen: Guided tour 'The Dunes Abbey and the Sea'

Ready for a fascinating family tour in the Abbey Museum? Our guide is eager to welcome you! Together you discover the story of 'De Duinenabdij and the sea'. Building a gigantic abbey in the Middle Ages, right there in the dunes near the sea. That was no easy feat. What traces of the sea can we still find today from the medieval period of the Dunes Abbey? Fish, oysters and cockles were on the monks' plates, but we also see on various collection pieces how our North Sea had a major impact on life within the monastery walls. During the guided tour we also get to know the two fun monks 'Bert & Bert'. They were drawn by illustrator Arnold Hovart.
