Developing on Earth for more than 400 million years, mushrooms are simply fascinating in their forms, properties, modes of reproduction, and communication as well as their essential role for the living world. Exchanging information and nutrients with trees and other plants, they are obviously also a source of food for slugs, insects, and other forest animals. During this walk, we will lift part of the veil covering the mysterious world of mushrooms and their functions in the forest environment.
Attention: this is not a “mushroom picking” walk, an activity formally prohibited in Forêt de Soignes. Under no circumstances will we pick any, nor will we specify whether they are edible or not.
