In the autumn of 2025, Johan Verminnen was ready to kick off his farewell tour 'The Last Round' (with also a try-out on 03/11/25*). After a career of more than fifty years, he chose a final musical round along the places where he experienced so many beautiful moments. Driven by gratitude and the desire to say goodbye to his audience, he wanted to bring his beloved songs one more time with heart and soul. Unfortunately, health reasons forced him to cancel his farewell tour. Today, in the spring of 2026, the farewell is getting a sequel after all! After careful deliberation, Johan decided to plan a new tour. This way, he can still meet his audience one more time and finish his career in beauty. Regained strength, a never-failing zeal, and appetite drive him forward. Taking matters into his own hands is something he has always done. And we are very happy that this farewell tour will again be kicked off with an exclusive try-out in our venue in Bonheiden! Of Johan Verminnen now cured? No, but it is slowly but surely getting better. As he says it himself: “It is like with the weather: one ray of sun and we think differently and want more. Of course, every journey ends, mine too! Yet I want to feel those boards one more time and smell that audience. How happy I am that I have always followed my dream and gone this difficult, but interesting path. On the many turns of life, I might have met you, I consider that a blessing and regret nothing. Also now, music will heal me; something it has always done. Of course, a song will one day be the last, I have peace with that! Yes, I have made halls fill up and empty out. Yes, I have always sung with heart and soul. It was a privilege to meet colleagues and to comfort and entertain the audience. Of course, it is the task of a singer to connect and that is what I have tried. I have given all that I had and have received more than I gave! This was my life, dear audience, I am so happy now that I see you all. I remain forever a singer and nothing more, although I prefer to dwell in idleness.” Johan is accompanied live on stage by five musicians.
