Mirja Klippel (DEN/FIN)

With a captivating voice and a rich sound universe, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mirja Klippel is a striking talent in the alternative folk music scene. Raised in Finland and now living in the Danish countryside, she sings about love, war, longing, nature, and the nomadic life. Her songs are fragile and of a rare beauty. Her lyrics form a sequence of intense feelings that explode when her deep, melancholic voice and guitar merge with the rhythmic guitar playing of her musical companion Alex Jønsson. Debut EP Lift Your Lion (2016) earned her a Danish Music Award Folk as Songwriter of the Year. With Met River of Silver (2018) and Slow Coming Alive (2021), she confirms her class.
