‘Zondag de Negenste’ brings the story of the brothers Horst and Franz who see each other again after a life full of missed opportunities. Horst suffers from a lack of joy in life and Alzheimer's. Franz needs money and hopes for his brother's inheritance. Old passions, old wounds, and a rivalry between two brothers that goes back further than they realize. The film intertwines the memories of two brothers with those of the residents of a residential care center and therefore tells - in a unique way - that caring for each other is perhaps the most essential form of humanity. This film screening is part of the Elderly Week 2026, the annual campaign of the Vlaamse Ouderenraad that takes place from November 16 to 22.
