When the pubs tell the story of Art nouveau and Art Déco

Brussels estaminets offer very varied atmospheres. Some of them have preserved their Art Nouveau or Art Déco decor. Stained glass, precious woodwork with elegant curves, and shiny counters remember the Belle Époque, the crazy and jazzy years. They testify to the evolution of tastes: large, bright, open, lively cafés at the beginning of the century, more secret, intimistic, muffled in the interwar period.
