Guy Davis & The Nerak Roth Patterson Band ✩ Клубний концерт Missy Sippy

Девіс виграв Keeping The Blues Alive Award і неодноразово номінувався The Blues Foundation як Beste Akoestische Artiest, Beste Instrumentalist та за Beste Akoestische Album. God's Gonna Make Things Over, On the bill: Guy Davis. An absolute giant of American blues, exceptionally joined by The Nerak Roth Patterson Band. This October marks the first time in almost fifteen years that Guy Davis tours the Benelux with a full American band. The two-time Grammy nominee is joined by Tony Coleman, longtime drummer for B. B. King, guitarist Nerak Roth Patterson, who has toured with Davis before, and bassist Nerak Patterson Jr. It will be the fourth time we welcome this master of acoustic blues and captivating storyteller to Missy Sippy. Anyone who has seen Guy Davis before (oh my, what a joy that was) knows exactly what's coming. Only this time: full band, full force, full body, full of joy. As the son of legendary actors and civil rights activists Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Davis grew up in the heart of the American civil rights movement. His father served as master of ceremonies at the historic March on Washington where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Folk icon Pete Seeger was a family friend and mentor. Twice nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues, Guy Davis has built a remarkable career as a musician, actor, author and songwriter. Blues, folk, roots, spoken word and world music all find their way into his work. Armed with guitar, banjo and a warm stage presence, he tells stories about life, history and the people often left out of it. Davis received the Keeping The Blues Alive Award and has been repeatedly nominated by The Blues Foundation for Acoustic Artist of the Year, Instrumentalist of the Year and Acoustic Album of the Year. Songs such as God's Gonna Make Things Over, about the 1921 Tulsa massacre, show why he is held in such high regard around the world.
