Flying Horseman

The core of Flying Horseman is still Bert Dockx, with his intense, highly personal songs, vocals and guitar playing. But the line-up of the group has changed, with today Louis Evrard (Pruillip, Ottla, Grid Ravage) and Maximilian Dobbertin (Calicos, Frankie Fame) in the ranks instead of drummer Alfredo Bravo and bassist Mattias Cré. Furthermore, Flying Horseman is also the passion project of Loesje and Martha Maieu, who have been part of it for almost as long as the frontman. As always, they also provide essential ingredients to create the unique taste of Flying Horseman. Their ghostly vocals and atmospheric synth sounds contrast beautifully with the more earthy vocals of Dockx and his restless, fiery guitar playing. And the whole album is fiery, alternately smoldering and scorching. These are songs that can set the heart and mind of the listener ablaze. Anaesthesia is therefore, very consciously, a political album, born from a bewilderment about the state of the world; about the resurrection of fascism; about the explosion of injustice, barbarism and stupidity of which we, inhabitants of this earth, are daily witnesses.
