That, too, is fate, and I embrace that with pleasure as well.” Jan Jaap van der Wal is now 10 years a ‘Flemish person in training’ and has become an indispensable part of Flemish theaters and television. The love is mutual, and to celebrate that, Jan Jaap is bringing his biggest show to date in Flanders. “Because whether we perish from a potential war, or from a budget deficit, or we choke on a shrimp croquette at the seaside; we are going to perish anyway, so let’s do it with a big smile.”
