Revolutionary Road follows April and Frank Wheeler, a seemingly perfect couple with a house, garden, children, and jobs. Determined to live life to the fullest, they plan a radical escape to Paris, but the harsh reality catches up with them. Their dream crumbles, frustration turns into recriminations, and their love turns into a nightmare. With razor-sharp dialogues, an intense and ruthless portrait emerges of a couple losing themselves and each other. A performance that gets under the skin and shows what lies hidden behind apparent happiness. Although the story takes place in the America of the fifties, it holds up a sharp mirror to the Western society of today and to the way in which expectations steer our lives.
