Cultural Centre: Sarah Lélé

Sarah Lél is a young Belgian comedian of Cameroonian origin who started stand-up at the age of 14 on the boards of her secondary school. Today, this walking punchline is known for her legendary calm and her knack for single-handedly turning upside down every stage she steps on! Au Cameroun, it is even said that “when Sarah Lélé speaks, the wise men chuckle and take notes…” In her texts, we often find the following themes: How do you evolve when you are from everywhere and nowhere at the same time? How do you build yourself as a young woman coming from cultures that combine and clash in this world where the perception of others has become so important? On stage, no taboos, Sarah talks about white people, black people, her relationship with Belgium and Cameroon. An openness to dialogue with respect for the other, always under the banner of humor. Soft activism for this young woman soon to graduate in law and political science. Sarah hesitated between a career as an ambassador and that of a comedian; she perhaps already manages to combine the two.
