Walangaan, in Wolof, means "water flowing in abundance". On stage, a Senegalese singer and percussionist explore with complicity the metaphor of water, its sounds, and its reflections. Their bodies and voices become instruments. Water falls, laps, cascades, shimmers, drips, flows, splashes, cleans — and sometimes also becomes scarce. Watering cans, basins, drums, mirrors accompany this sensitive crossing. A moment of immersive musical theater where simplicity opens wide the door to wonder.
The show received the Minister of Culture's prize, Bénédicte Linard, at the Vitrine Chanson and Young Audience Music in October 2023.
