Nausca - The Story of Lung-ta

A film! A concert! An A/V show with immersive sound. ‘The story of Lung-Ta’ is all of it. Nausca, a new Ansatz der Maschine project, brings an audiovisual performance where 4 live musicians (harp, strings, drums, electronics, guzheng, nyckelharpa, and yayli tanbur...) tell the story of Lung-ta based on real film footage, animation video, graphics, and immersive sound. Met Nausca strikes Mathijs Bertel (known from Ansatz der Maschine) in a completely new direction: one where music, image, and story flow together into a total experience. On December 10, he presents his debut in Club Wintercircus with an exclusive audiovisual show, built around 360° visuals and immersive sound that you don't just hear, but really feel. Central is The Story of Lung-ta, a film concert that follows the story of a girl who washes up in a mysterious world and tries to understand how everything is connected there. Along the way, she is assisted by “windhorses”, symbolic horses that refer to Tibetan prayer flags and the power of nature. What starts as a fairytale discovery journey grows into a reflection on biodiversity, our relationship with nature, and how fragile that balance actually is. Live, that story is brought by four musicians who play a wide arsenal of instruments, from harp and strings to electronics and more atypical sounds such as guzheng, nyckelharpa, and yayli tanbur. That music is interwoven with film footage, animation, and graphic elements into a total experience that balances somewhere between concert, film, and installation. The show on December 10 is also the official release concert of Nausca’s debut album, on which various guest voices will leave their mark.
