Dom Juan, the myth, the provocateur... He needs no introduction. The centuries pass and his image as a flamboyant seducer remains. He continues to feed our fantasies. But behind the libertine (and the libertarian) lurks the man of power. And what becomes of the eternal seducer, now that women have decided to redefine their role in society? It is this image of Dom Juan, still so present in our imaginations, that the show intends to question. In his quest for absolute power over the world, does the seducer, the con artist, still work? What does the legend still tell of our behaviors, of our contemporary reflexes, in our changing societies where women have undertaken to redefine their relationship to power. Daphné D’Heur takes the myth head-on. In an arena, in a singular combat between brutal force and collective intelligence, the director proposes to two men to interpret the master and his valet, and to three women to face them in the other roles. She brings to the stage five intrepid artists, determined to debate once again with Monsieur Molière and his transmission.
