Tinel Ensemble

In this program, the beautiful chamber music works of Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann, and Johannes Brahms resonate in various ensembles, from duo to sextet. The music is alternated and reinforced with their own words - which will sound through the halls via recorded letters in the voices of Clara Cleymans, Warre Borgmans, and Johannes Wirix-Speetjens. Letters in which hearts are opened about human emotions such as love, frustration, joy, sadness... With ‘Liefs, Clara’, the Tinel Ensemble seeks a multidisciplinary atmosphere, in which chamber music is combined with words. Three exceptional composers, connected by their shared passion for music and their admiration for each other's work, in an intimate and unique setting with a varied palette of sounds. Het Tínel Ensemble saw the light of day when six young talented musicians met at LUCA School of Arts in Leuven. A strong friendship was born, driven by a shared passion for music. This ensemble plays in a wide range of ensembles, with string quartet, clarinet, and piano as building blocks. Through their unique and varied sound palette, they immerse their audience in the versatility of chamber music. In 2022, the ensemble made a convincing debut with their program 'Roaring Twenties' and were invited to halls such as Flagey and Amuz. Two years later, they crossed the border to the Netherlands for the first time, where they are now a welcome guest. In 2025, they enriched their repertoire with contemporary music by collaborating with the young composer Yentl Tijssens. This resulted in the work ‘De Fiere Margriet’, with which they were invited to the Koninklijke Academie for the Arts in Brussels in 2026. A recent highlight was their radio debut on Klara in 2026. As part of ‘De Twintigers’, they performed live recordings of Schumann's piano quintet and ‘De Fiere Margriet’ by Yentl Tijssens.
