A bit of irony is not foreign to Steven Mahieu. A week before he premiered his 5th theater show ‘Stabiel’, his mental lamp started to flicker seriously. The tour had to be canceled. In his new show ‘Stabieler’ Steven relives his months of confrontation, purification, and - fortunately - also humor. He learned that a person always plans success in the future but never failure. And also that with your mind you can better solve problems instead of creating them. Before you get scared that Steven has become an all-knowing guru, don't panic: this Mahieu is also not stable yet. But more stable. And that is enough. He takes Karim Shatla with him as a permanent support. Realized with the support of the tax shelter measure of the Belgian legislator via Flanders Taks Shelter. With his debut show ‘MAHIEUSTUEUS’ Steven Mahieu immediately won the jury and audience award at Humorologie. Then followed ‘Maniak’, ‘ Zonder Filter ’ and ‘ Full Contact Tour ’. Those were always received with 4 stars in the press. ‘Stabieler’ is his 5th theater show. Steven is also known as an actor. For example, he plays Arne, the boyfriend of Chantal, in the eponymous comedy series ‘Chantal’ on één, VRT. The 3rd season of that series can be seen on Streamz, and this autumn also on één (VRT). Previously you could also see him in ‘Nonkels’, ‘ Doe Zo Voort ’ and ‘ Onder Vuur ’. Karim Shatla is a Bruges native who approaches current themes such as diversity and inclusion in an infectious way. He describes absurd situations that are hilarious and confrontational, combined with the right dose of self-mockery. Maar Karim is also mainly chill, and who knows, he might play a tune on his guitar here and there. Karim won the ‘ Jef Staes ’ award in March 2025 as the most promising comedian of the moment. As a result, he receives extra support for a year to throw himself into his comedy career. Gemeente Deerlijk together with the municipality of Anzegem
