Soetkin Baptist & Det Vilde Kor (NO)

Soetkin Baptist became known in Belgian folk with projects like Ishtar and Olla Vogala, but did not stop there. She embraced various genres, from classical music to pop, jazz, choral, and world music, and also made a splash in the world of early music. This versatility forms the fertile basis for her own innovative vocal arrangements. How her life has been going since her move to Norway in 2015, we can follow in Annemie Struyfs program Het Hoge Noorden. In it, we see, among other things, how she has grown into a fixture in the Norwegian music scene. In addition to her solo work, she conducts various choirs, in particular her boundary-pushing Det Vilde Kor, with which she now returns to Belgium. Soetkin is known for her authentic, profound voice and her own sound that challenges the audience and completely carries them along. She worked with artists and companies such as Rosas, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and the Ratas Del Viejo Mundo ensemble. With a lot of experience as a performing artist and vocal coach, she brought countless projects to life. After her first EP Steigen Songs (2024), Both Sides Live appeared in March 2026, a live EP with four songs from Heartbreak Songs, recorded on Svalbard with pianist Yegor Shevtsov, and one track with Det Vilde Kor: ‘But I Loved’, a reworking of the Norwegian hit by ‘Highasakite’.
