Met Drawing Basses brings bassist Kristof Roseeuw a special and interactive performance in which music and visual art meet. Not a classic concert experience, but a playful sound lab in which the audience sits at the controls themselves.
After a short introduction, the participants dive into the world of the graphic score. With all kinds of drawing materials, they create their own musical schemes. Those drawings form the basis for what the musicians play. This creates a unique interaction between audience and performers.
The room is filled with sounds, lines, and ideas. The created scores are hung up after the performance and show how the performance grows and evolves. The result is always different, surprising, and collectively created.
Drawing Basses is an invitation to experience music in a different way: accessible, creative, and for everyone. Young or old, with or without musical experience: everyone can participate and goes home with their own graphic score.
This activity takes place in the context of Art Day for Children.
