Kerff (Compagnie Cecilia)

In Kerff tells Sebastien Dewaele the story of Marcel Kerff, a butcher's son and cyclist from the Voer region around 1900. Not a hero, but a man who served others his whole life: as a servant in the race, as a devoted brother and later as a butler. This monologue with live music is about service, compassion and the value of the small. With humor and passion, Dewaele tells about a life in the shadows, with much love for family and a search for humility in a world that seems to want to celebrate heroes above all. Na Marinus (2018) and Once upon a time in the Westhoek (2022), Dewaele is once again creating a performance at Compagnie Cecilia about small people who end up in big history.
