In the noise of the world

“Mom, look, I’m the star that’s going to shine Mom, look, I’m the star that’s shooting here” Born into a world where ambition is not enough, where “everyone does their own business, set on their supports,” a young man puts his dreams to the test of reality. But the obstacles will be numerous: “the beauty of the sky also seems sad” because “for them to respect me, I have to look rich.” In five initiatory steps (The Call – La Désillusion – La Chute – Le Silence – The Awakening) freely traced by the young Carolo rapper Luca Latte based on the Buddhist novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, he will have to find his place, while avoiding sinking into anger or cynicism. Contemporary dance and hip-hop, rap, singing, and beatmaking carry the energy of this desperate search for meaning developed within the Studio PBA of Charleroi and with the Jeunesses Musicales. Faced with the mirages and social rage of a young person who “understands our gaps better thanks to Bourdieu,” questions arise: what is “succeeding”? Where does happiness begin, and to whom does it belong? Ars Musica, international festival of contemporary music, joins forces with the Studio du Palais of Fine Arts de Charleroi and the Jeunesses Musicales de Bruxelles for the creation of a show intended for teenagers.
