Christoff - for years the undisputed Christmas king of Flanders - is going on tour again in December with his amazing live band and four talented female singers. Under the gradually familiar heading 'Kerstmis met Christoff', the likeable East Fleming is bringing an extensive Christmas tour to Flanders, where he will perform his favorite Christmas classics.
It has gradually become one of his most beloved traditions: his series of Christmas concerts. "Christmas is a very important holiday for me. Every year, Christmas is celebrated extensively at my home and I spare no expense. I love celebrating Christmas with only people you love. I like to carry this atmosphere through into my annual Christmas concerts," says Christoff.
Christoff bears the title 'Kerstkoning van Vlaanderen' with right and pleasure. Everything that makes Christmas so special – the coziness, the lights, the delicious food – he finds fantastic. This is also evident from his impressive collection of more than 60 Christmas sweaters - from classic to ugly - he has them all. But above all, he lives for the music: for more than 15 years, he has been filling Flemish churches with Christmas concerts that immerse thousands of visitors in the magic of the season. With more than 125,000 visitors spread over the various concerts, Christoff has firmly anchored himself in recent years as the Christmas icon of Flanders.
In addition to Christmas classics such as ‘Witte Kerstmis’ and ‘Kleine Trommelaar’, a few new Christmas songs are being added to the setlist again this year. “The familiar basis remains the same, but as every year, there are new, subtle accents here and there. We are working again with four ladies with beautiful voices who join me on stage, but who are also allowed to take their own moments. Polyphonic Christmas songs are always an added value, especially when you know that we also perform them in impressive churches or buildings with a great history and magnificent acoustics.”
