November is par excellence the period when we think back to our ancestors, to deceased parents, uncles and aunts, and other family. In that context, Davidsfonds Reet offers you an extraordinarily interesting heritage walk in the cemetery of Terhagen.
We take you from the church to the old cemetery with the graves of the former mayor Frans Pauwels and of many other well-known families of brickmakers (incl. Landuyt) and slipper makers. Then we visit the adjacent "new" municipal cemetery with the artwork "Eternity" by Remy Cornelissen and the final resting place for more recently deceased well-known and unknown inhabitants of Terhagen. Explanation by art historian Kristin Daenen and author and former alderman of Rumst (and Terhagen) Eddy Huyghe.
Afterwards, tea house Heerlijkerwijs on Nieuwstraat provides a (sweet or savory) conclusion.
