Dia de MuertosFestivalDia de MuertosConcerts, Procession, Musical workshops, Dance, Philosophy, Offerings, Fandangos, Mexican chocolate, Monumental altar, Death cafés, Offering workshops, Screening, Cemetery walk, Theater, Tales, and much more! Do not miss this must-attend event in the heart of the city “Día de Muertos in the Marolles” has existed since 2018. It is an annual event founded by the TAS D'OS Collective based on a universal gesture yet forgotten by our contemporary societies: that of honoring our deceased. Having the Mexican tradition as a starting point, the Brussels version is a hybrid and joyful festival, the fruit of a collaboration between a collective of artists, the neighborhood residents, and audiences from wider circles. Through singing, crafting, words, gestures, this event offers a space and a time to remember, tell stories, reinvent gestures, take care of one's dead... Alone, with family, friends, or strangers, the public finds in Día De Muertos a contemporary framework to think/heal their dead. The event, which aims to be non-confessional, open to all in a joyful and impertinent cultural exchange. You will soon be able to discover our entire program starting October 1st.Sun 1 NovMarolles · Brussels Tour guidé en bus Hop-on Hop-offMiscTour guidé en bus Hop-on Hop-offDiscover the wonders of Brussels on board Tootbus Brussels. Crane tour in the East CantonsMiscCrane tour in the East CantonsEarly November. The autumn migration from north to south is slowly entering its final weeks. In the rear of the migratory legion, groups of common cranes usually still pass during this time towards their wintering areas in France and Spain. Usually, the bulk of these groups flies east of our country over Germany. With some luck, eastern winds also bring them over the Lage Landen. The best chance to enjoy this natural wonder is naturally in the far east of our country, namely the East Cantons. Furthermore, this region with its robust nature forms the ideal landscape for a strenuous nature walk. We also have the chance to see some species that we do not encounter so easily elsewhere. These can be other migratory birds such as bramblings, redwings and fieldfares, but also local species such as red kite, white-throated dipper, spotted nutcracker and great grey shrike. Come and discover it with us!Sun 1 Nov · 07:30–18:00't Spant · AntwerpFree Walk in WolvenbergMiscWalk in WolvenbergThe relationship between trees, insects, and fungi is unique. It is probably well known that trees and fungi belong together. From the beginning of their life, some tree seeds enter into a symbiotic relationship with fungi such as the amethyst deceiver or the red-brown deceiver and beech seedlings. But later on, fungi are also important for trees. They provide more water and more nutrients so that they are better protected against drought and grow better. Through parasitic fungi, weakened trees are more quickly absorbed into the food cycle of a tree. And of course, fungi ensure that dead material, especially in autumn, is digested and cleaned up and thus also provides more food for the tree. But there are also important relationships between fungi and insects. There are fungi that live on the skeleton of beetles without this having an influence on them. There are fungi that live on the pupae of insects such as the caterpillar hunter. Ants cultivate fungi to feed their colony. This may seem simple, but this is not the case. They must ensure that no parasitic fungi penetrate the nest. A number of insects also ensure the spread of fungi. A number of them eat fungi. But the relationship between flowers and insects is also unique. Just think of the many galls, mines... On a pedunculate oak, more than 40 species of galls can be present. The walk starts at 2:00 PM.
