MusicMagic WoodMagic Wood takes us to the other side of the world, to Australia, the homeland of the Aboriginal people and of an ancestral culture, ‘long before the Dreamtime, even before time could be counted’… From this island-continent, our two ‘wizards of breath’ recount its rites and legends through song, dance and the didgeridoo.
This is the famous ‘magic wood’, an instrument with deep sounds and an unimaginable variety of timbres, crafted for over 20,000 years with the help of termites! And Magic Wood has not been practising it for millennia, but for long enough to have tamed this strange creature!
The performance will also explore the benefits of circular breathing for the body, the harmonising power of voices, and the various rhythms that flow through us, in harmony with Mother Nature… A unique experience halfway between an animist tale, a traditional music concert and physical exercise: magical, indeed.Wed 4 Nov · 14:00Flagey · Brusselsfrom €9

MusicSonic Teens: LézardDo you have teenagers at home, but would rather not let them loose on a festival site just yet? During the school holidays, De Roma presents Sonic Teens – concerts tailored to young people aged 13 to 18. With Sonic Teens, we create the perfect first concert experience: an early evening show in a safe, manageable setting, fully designed for young music lovers. No late-night crowds, no overwhelming masses – just the magic of live music, shared with peers. No parents in the venue, but with the trusted support of De Roma.LézardWith a dazzling mix of post-punk, disco, glam rock, new wave and electroclash, Lézard positions itself on that fault line between comedy and tragedy – songs that unfold like a comedic theatre piece and the cacophony behind the scenes. The hysterical chemistry between Neil Claes and Myrthe Asta spreads everywhere and creates a brand-new dance that they themselves don’t even know the name of. The backbone of Lézard’s witty funk‑punk consists of Andreas Duchi (bass) and Roel Delplancke (drums). And finally, Viktor De Greef, equipped with an arsenal of wriggling synthesizers that threaten to derail the game plan at any moment. Their debut album Que Se Passe‑t‑il is a diorama in which heartbreakers, voyeurs, escapists and dreamers blend together beneath a shattered disco ball. Lézard desperately points the camera at itself: what on earth is going on with this big blue rock?Wed 4 Nov · 17:00–19:00De Roma · Antwerp
MusicJOB & FriendsAfter three sold-out shows on November 9, 2025, in Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen, JOB, better known as Dutchtuber, is now preparing for the biggest stage of his career. On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the 26-year-old Dutch internet star returns to Belgium with his brand new live show: ‘JOB & Friends’, but this time in the Lotto Arena. Even in the Netherlands, where his success story began, JOB had never played such a large show of his own. ‘JOB & Friends’ promises a spectacular, interactive show full of humor, music, and surprises - this time in the company of some famous friends from the online and musical world. ‘JOB & Friends’ will be a real feel-good experience where young (and older) fans can experience both JOB and their other favorite online heroes up close. What started as a hobby of a fourteen-year-old in his bedroom in the Netherlands grew into a true phenomenon. JOB has been building his YouTube career for years and quickly became famous for his tutorials around games like Roblox and Minecraft, but also for various challenges that especially appeal to young people. Last year alone, he dropped more than 500 videos, good for over 300 million views and seven times in YouTube Trending. Since 2024, he has also been focusing on music: his debut single ‘Nostalgie’ was streamed millions of times, successors such as ‘Per Ongeluk Verliefd’, ‘Perfecte Plaatje’, ‘Sterrenbeeld’, and ‘Zwembad’ confirmed his talent. Job shows that he can also reach a new audience as an artist. Ten years after the start of his online adventures, JOB is in Antwerp on the largest stage of his career to date with his own show - something he says he “Never dared to dream”. That his biggest show to date is taking place not in the Netherlands, but in Belgium, makes it all the more special for him.Sat 7 Nov · 15:00–16:30Lotto Arena · Antwerp

CinemaCinema Club #53: Erik of het klein insectenboek (2004)Something is tingling in KASKcinema. Together with Kinoautomat we shrink to pocket size for this irresistibly charming Belgian-Dutch youth classic.
Like a worm in an apple, Erik or the Little Insect Book has nested itself in the heart of an entire generation. Based on the well-known book by Godfried Bomans, we follow Erik who during a visit to his grandfather is transported to the insect world. There he becomes acquainted with a biotope – equipped with juicy Dutch accents – that will change his life forever.
Decorated with beautiful costumes, craft-tastic special effects and voluptuous ants, Erik or the Little Insect Book is the child-friendly precursor to Isabella Rossellini's Green Porno. An evening of noughties nostalgia, however, evolves into a beehive of physical knowledge thanks to our guest speaker on duty, who guides you past the quirks, kinks and peculiarities of a bunch of critters.
This screening will be introduced by biologist Merel Janquart.

Before director Brad Bird scored hits at Pixar with films including The Incredibles and Ratatouille, this small masterpiece already drew attention. TheatreViolette's sillinessIn her little girl's imagination, Violette, unfiltered, experiences everything intensely. Love, death, separation, anger, boredom, it's no laughing matter.
With bubbling energy, she takes us along to retrace the thread of memories with her grandpa: his departure party, the horror stories he told her in the evening, but above all their wacky pickle recipes. She sets out to send him a letter on the moon.
From sea storms all the way to her moon landing, passing through the tarantula jungle, Violette replays all the emotions and questions that undoubtedly make up her daily life... Where do we go when we die? How do you handle two boyfriends? What is a tax audit? Since I see the moon, is it closer than Spain?
Between humor and resilience, Violette brings the objects around her to life and reinvents the world in her own way. Borrowing the codes of stand-up, she doubles down on audacity with a disarming spontaneity.

Birthday party
Rode Hond is turning 20, and that calls for a party. Literally, because we’re kicking off the Rode Hond festival with a spectacular birthday party on Wednesday 4 November from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm in the most beautiful foyer in the country – the Schouwburg’s. Will you be joining us for a dance?

Light tubes on the building react to music, rhythm and play, whilst children can play the façade themselves. Each note is assigned a colour, and every combination can produce a new surprise. With light, sound and special effects, the façade party unfolds into a joyful birthday spectacle in which the city, the Schouwburg and the young audience come together to form one giant instrument. The Fluffy InvasionStep into the world of Sien Van Acker, who is also curating and hosting the show CIRCUS!. TheatreRed Dog: The story of GaalIn the land of cables live plug-people, the roads are gray and the words are cold. On the other side of the hill lives the wild ‘wanderer’ Deuvel in a small house with a large nest on the roof. There in that nest sleeps a small, feather-light girl. Little Gaal. She hangs on his back for hours and he teaches her everything about the forest and who inhabits it.
A story about a little girl between big giants of wood
about the land of cables where everything must charge
about how everyone has wings at night
about secret listening cards with Deuvel-tunes
and how we are completely lost without them
deuvel: an ancient wooden connecting piece
wanderer: someone who prefers being on the road above all else
gaal: a song or tune
Reineke tells the story, Toon provides the sound for the forest and Vicky builds the world of Gaal and Deuvel with branches, threads, … Based on the book of the same name 'The story of Gaal and the Deuvel-tunes'.

He shows them what they can expect from other planets. 'Astronootjes' is written for young children, with visual jokes and astronomical info adapted to their level. Theatre@ASTRAThe universe is beautiful and there is a lot to discover. Between the stars, you see dust, gas, ice, and moons floating, but listen, there is also something to hear in that space... For composer Wim Henderickx, the world was too small... He looked over distant horizons, peered at stars and planets, and wrote music inspired by earth, fire, air, and water. Using Met Henderickx’s music as a starting point, Helene Bracke created a performance that takes you on a journey through the universe. Stars and planets pass in review. Each with their own character, color, and temperament. Two percussionists and a singer play for, between, and with the audience and invite you for a journey past stardust, fiery celestial bodies, watery worlds, and a booming sun. Helene Bracke studied classical music at the Conservatorium van Gent and specialized in opera. She emerged as a maker, director, scenographer, and singer as a versatile artist within the music theater world. In 2025, she won the YAM Award for Beste Opera with ‘A la vie, à la mort. – Voor altijd’. She worked with, among others, the Belgian National Orchestra, Festival van Vlaanderen, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, and numerous international partners. For young spectators, she created ‘@ASTRA’ at Musica, ‘Loopneus’ at De Spiegel, and ‘Madame Vitesse’ for Les Festivals de Wallonie.Tue 3 Nov · 10:00–17:00Cultuurcentrum Zwaneberg · Heist-op-den-BergFree

TheatrePost from Hessdalen, Ballroom (6+) (in the context of Gloed)Someone has to throw the same balls into the same bin day in day out. Nobody actually knows why. Instead of letting the walls come at Someone, they start throwing at them. By letting the balls follow new paths, someone tries to escape the colorless monotony. When that succeeds, something arises that you could call pure magic. Voor Ballroom you take a seat in a converted truck. Inside, juggler Stijn Grupping takes you thanks to a lot of practice and a bit of magic into an incredible dance of bouncing balls. A wordless trip for daydreamers. "Post uit Hessdalen defies all laws of nature in its new circus performance. White bouncing balls dance a strong statement against every form of mechanics. (...) don't forget to close your open mouth again after the performance" ★★★★ De Standaard "A powerful play in space and time that aptly asks questions about how we experience time as modern working people."
