10:30 – The foyer opens, welcome for a drink!
11:00 – Tijdens de Koude Oorlog A giant metal robot crashes from space into a small American town. Nine-year-old Hogarth finds the good-natured robot and the two quickly become best friends. But danger lurks: the military and a deranged FBI agent want to destroy the iron giant. Hogarth tries to protect his big friend from the prejudices and fears of the angry outside world.
Before director Brad Bird scored hits at Pixar with films including The Incredibles and Ratatouille, this small masterpiece already drew attention. De Ijzeren Reus is a beautifully designed sci-fi animated film that will continue to entertain a young generation but also contains double meanings for the parents. As they say: a classic for the whole family!
For children aged 6 and up.

CinemaCinema Club #53: Erik of het klein insectenboek (2004)Something is tingling in KASKcinema. Together with Kinoautomat we shrink to pocket size for this irresistibly charming Belgian-Dutch youth classic.
Like a worm in an apple, Erik or the Little Insect Book has nested itself in the heart of an entire generation. Based on the well-known book by Godfried Bomans, we follow Erik who during a visit to his grandfather is transported to the insect world. There he becomes acquainted with a biotope – equipped with juicy Dutch accents – that will change his life forever.
Decorated with beautiful costumes, craft-tastic special effects and voluptuous ants, Erik or the Little Insect Book is the child-friendly precursor to Isabella Rossellini's Green Porno. An evening of noughties nostalgia, however, evolves into a beehive of physical knowledge thanks to our guest speaker on duty, who guides you past the quirks, kinks and peculiarities of a bunch of critters.
This screening will be introduced by biologist Merel Janquart.
