TheatreThe Time Of Now /2Following the success of last season, the sequel now follows because friendship takes no account of age.
In De Tijd van Nu part 1 last time we saw how five seventy-somethings, bound by lifelong friendship, decided to live together. De Tijd van Nu part 2 continues where life takes no pause.
The cohousing adventure is put to the test. The group has to deal with loss, a faltering memory, love taking unexpected forms, and the question of how to age gracefully when control slowly slips away. Old secrets float to the surface, new relationships arise, and the boundary between holding on and letting go becomes painfully sharp.
With sharp dialogues, touching silences, and a hefty dose of recognizable humor, De Tijd van Nu part 2 shows how friendship holds up when everything changes. A performance about grief and resilience, about saying goodbye without losing each other, and about continuing to choose life.

TheatreThe Secret RoomMay 10, 1940. Germany invades Belgium. 18 days later, the Belgian army surrenders and the entire territory is occupied. After just a few months, Frans Verlinden and his wife Irma Van Poyer, my grandparents, commit their first act of resistance: they hide a man wanted by the Germans in their house. De Geheime Kamer tells their story.
The house is quite large and has many rooms. It is a butcher's shop combined with a taproom, a large living area, and a spacious cellar. In that cellar, quite a few more people will hide during the course of the war years. But after several raids by the Germans, the cellar is no longer safe and a room on the first floor is prepared. It becomes the ‘secret room’.
Frans and Irma have 4 children, the eldest is 22 when the war breaks out, the youngest 14. They all do their bit in the resistance: passing on information and taking in and guiding refugees. The eldest daughter, Maria, my mother, marries in December 1941 and barely 6 months later she is arrested.
A few weeks earlier, Georges Lecron, the leader of the resistance group in Mechelen that the family is affiliated with, was arrested. All the people from his address book are arrested one by one.
Many of them do not survive…
'De Geheime Kamer' tells the story of the resistance past of my grandparents and my mother during the Tweede Wereldoorlog. They lived in Sint-Katelijne-Waver (Elzestraat).
It may be the story of my family, but in the performance itself that is broadened, it is the story of more than 150,000 people who offered resistance in one way or another. It is about war and peace, about courage (and not realizing at the time how dangerous it was to offer resistance), about why people did it. They were often simple folk who joined the resistance, like my grandparents and my mother. Simple in the sense of: these were not born heroes, no adventurers, but people like you and me. In this case: the village butcher and his family.

TheatrePatrick Blenkarn + Milton Lim - asses.massesAnimal Farm meets Pokémon meets Final Fantasy.
‘asses.masses’ is a custom-made video game that is played live from start to finish by the audience, one player at a time. In this epic story - of more than 7 hours (!) - you follow a herd of unemployed donkeys trying to win back their jobs. Spectators take the controller and lead the animals through a post-industrial world. A playful and surprising experience about work and play, technology and change.
It is gaming as performance: expect an immersive, funny, and above all original experience. Instead of just gaming in your room, you do this together with a large group. You decide what the donkey does or does not do.
Important: you definitely don't have to be a gamer for this, even without game experience it is an amusing experience!Sat 7 Nov · 13:00–21:30Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER · Ghentfrom €13.50

Text and direction: Maurice De Grauwe.
Things are not going smoothly for the Vandecloot-Droogenbroeck family. Robert Vandecloot, an avid angler, is only tolerated as the breadwinner. Professionally, the man of the house is responsible for collecting household waste. His wife Chantal and her unemployed resident sister Magda Droogenbroeck are financially dependent on that single salary of Robert's. Chantal toils day in and day out in the household. Zus Magda is not very helpful and dreams of one day running his own horse ranch. In and out of season, Lucie Vindevogel, the sophisticated widow of Gustaaf Deneut, drops by for coffee and gossip. From the moment the letter franked with a South African postage stamp is delivered, all hell breaks loose. We are swept away by the expectations and above all the fascinating and wacky story of the wealthy sugar uncle Gerard. Fits of laughter are strongly guaranteed in this surprising comedy.Sat 7 Nov · 20:00centrum seleskest · GhentUntil 22 Novfrom €15

The Voices of Things is a rare opportunity to see, touch, and explore a unique collection of uncommon objects, guided by the man who spent his life gathering them.
How could a coat button save hundreds of lives?
How was a small key responsible for one of the worst disasters in history?
You will become one of the lucky few to experience the unbelievable but true stories behind these treasures, as their secrets are unlocked before your eyes.
Part intimate performance, part conversation, it is ultimately an invitation to look for the wonders hiding in plain sight and a reminder that the things we keep are often keeping something of us as well.

Sat 7 Nov · 20:30–22:30House of Mysteries · Ghentfrom €29

PART II
We give the stage to a stand-up comedian. This week we give the stage to Jarno Boone.
Jarno Boone
"Make some noise for..." It is the sentence that Jarno Boone said almost every evening for the past ten years as a crowd warmer for big TV shows like 'The Voice', 'The Masked Singer', 'Tafel van Gert', etc. Now it is Jarno's own turn: he steps out of the shadows and jumps straight onto the stage with energetic, no-nonsense comedy. From the most embarrassing stories to striking true anecdotes from show business about musical dissections.
Jarno has a soft spot for entertainment, or is it the other way around? In 2025 he made it to the semi-finals of Humo’s Comedy Cup and provided the opening acts for Jade Mintjens's arena shows. Before that, Jarno was also allowed to add the Commeere Comedy Cup to his track record. A resounding applause please for the most jovial comedian in the country!

TheatreMare MadreMare Madre is a poetic performance about the intense bond between a mother and her son, about missing and finding each other again, about drifting away and washing ashore.
A boy walks along the surf and collects artifacts from the North Sea. Ever since his childhood he has been a beachcomber, mesmerized by everything the sea coughs up and swallows. The sea reveals to him a treasure chest full of relics; a punctured lifebuoy, seeds from other continents, a sperm whale that urgently needs to be kept alive.
A mother walks along the surf and collects memories of her son. Ever since his childhood it has been clear that he thinks differently and lives differently. Will she be able to let him go into the wide world? Will he be able to let her go?
With Met Marijke Pinoy and her son Titus De Sutter Pinoy on stage, that story acquires a special vulnerability. The encounter between an experienced actress and a performer without a classical stage background gives extra relief to the story of a mother and her son who are each learning to let go in their own way.
Tom Goossens directs, Marijke Libert & Fred Libert write, Stephan Vanfleteren designs the scenography. Together, inspired by Aäron Fabrice de Kisangani, they bring a performance that aims to be as austere as it is rich in imagery.

TheatreAn intimate evening of Magic with Jonas De BruynFrom international events to some of the most extraordinary private settings in the world: Jonas De Bruyn usually creates his magic for an audience located just a few meters away from him.
For one evening, he brings that experience to House of Mysteries.
Only 30 guests. No big stage. No distance.
In this exclusive intimate experience, the boundary between performer and audience blurs. Thoughts are read. Intuition is tested. Coincidence starts to feel suspicious. And the closer you get to the magic, the harder it becomes to explain what is really happening.
An adult evening in which magic merges with psychology, perception, intuition, humor, and human connection.
Because in a world where everything is moving faster and faster and almost nothing seems out of reach anymore, real wonder perhaps becomes one of the rarest experiences.
For one evening, we make room for that again.
Close-up magic. Personal. Unpredictable.
30 guests. One room. An evening of the impossible.

TheatreHugo Matthysen, Ronny Mosuse & Aram Van Ballaert | BIMDEKBIMDEK
In the successful theater tour HURORAM!, Hugo Matthysen, Aram Van Ballaert, and Ronny Mosuse just didn't give the best of themselves. That is being saved for a second tour, which is being unleashed on the world under the title BIMDEK.
What does Bimdek mean? Googling doesn't help us any further. The most accurate description is: Bimdek is a word from a language that consists of only one word, namely the word Bimdek. You can translate it as 'Theatertour van Matthysen, Mosuse, and Van Ballaert'.
What can we expect? There will again be deep digging into Hugo's rich repertoire, of course there are also new songs in it and certainly also a song in the language from which the word Bimdek originates. In between, the necessary meaningful nonsense will be told, so that the deep emotion can sometimes give way to cheerful bewilderment, with which the mental balance of the audience is immediately pampered.
About the makers: Aram Van Ballaert and Ronny Mosuse are two musical toppers. And Hugo Matthysen also does his best with strings.Tue 10 Nov · 19:30–21:00De Vooruit Gent · Ghentfrom €35

Earlier in 2025 as a soloist he won both the Jury and Audience Award at the Amsterdams Studenten Cabaret Festival. He graduated from the Koningstheateracademie in 's-Hertogenbosch and won the Griffoen/Zuidplein Cabaret Festival with his cabaret duo.

They are about to embark on that adventure - the last strip is out of the packaging, the hormones are finding their rhythm, life is ready for the next step. Just as it should be.
Apart from his receding hairline, everything seems fine for Robrecht in Ten minste houdbaar tot. He has a job, a girlfriend, a life that runs smoothly. But still, there is that restlessness: the world around him is raging. War, climate, the unhinged fellow human being. And then there is that other doubt - love itself. TheatreThe Party, Anne-Cécile Van Dalem / Das Fraulein KompanieAnne-Cécile Vandalem and Joëlle Sambi draw on a real event that deeply marked Belgium: the death of Sanda Dia in December 2018, following an initiation ritual within an elitist student fraternity.
Starting from this tragedy and the trial of the members of Reuzegom, their creative team is undertaking a long-term exploration of
the mechanisms that protect elites, the denial of racism, and the reproduction of social privilege.
Theatre becomes a space for experimentation, where reality and fiction rub against each other, where silenced narratives can emerge without any promise of consolation or forgiveness. At the crossroads of the political and the intimate, the play seeks to make visible the shadowy zones left by the handling of this story — those unresolved areas that theatre brings into the open.,Thu 12 Nov · 20:00–22:00NTGent Schouwburg · Ghentfrom €15+1 more date
TheatreEco-comedy show with Low Impact ManWe gladly invite you to an eco-comedy show on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 7:30 PM with none other than Low Impact Man. Under that name, Steven Vromman made a splash on Canvas. In the meantime, he has written multiple books and sold out countless theater venues with his eco-comedy shows.
Steven is scheduling an extra show, especially for our citizenship trip of the coming school year. We, the fifth-year students of Keerpuntschool Gent, are going to do 3 weeks of volunteer work next year at primary school The Swallow in Gambia. To make this trip a reality, we must raise money, because as a school we want everyone to be able to get a fair chance to come along. We are very grateful to Steven that he wants to support our initiative through his performance.
So do not miss this evening: it is full of inspiration, tips and examples that demonstrate that sustainable living is not about sacrifice, but simply about making different choices. And indeed packed with humor: it remains a comedy show ;)
The bar opens starting from 7:00 PM: then you get the chance to buy one of his books and have it signed by Steven. The show itself begins at 7:30 PM and after the show you can enjoy a drink or chat a bit with Steven.Fri 13 Nov · 19:30–21:30Freinetscholen Keerpunt - Gent · Ghentfrom €15
TheatreSteven Mahieu - 'More stable'A bit of irony is not foreign to Steven Mahieu. A week before the premiere of his fifth theater show ‘Stabiel’, his mental lightbulb started flickering seriously. The tour had to be canceled. In his new show ‘Stabieler’, Steven relives his months of confrontation, purification, and – fortunately – also humor. He learned that a person always plans for success in the future but never for failure. And also that it is better to solve problems with your mind instead of creating them. Before you get scared that Steven has turned into an all-knowing guru, no worries: this Steven is also not yet completely stable. But definitely more stable. And that is enough.Fri 13 Nov · 20:00–22:30Capitole Gent · Ghentfrom €22
