Come along with your children to explore, get active and play at the Rode Hond festival centre in the Schouwburg. Birthday party Rode Hond is turning 20, and that calls for a party. Literally, because we’re kicking off the Rode Hond festival with a spectacular birthday party on Wednesday 4 November from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm in the most beautiful foyer in the country – the Schouwburg’s. Will you be joining us for a dance? Façade PartyFor this 20th edition, the façade of the Schouwburg will be transformed into a monumental xylophone. Light tubes on the building react to music, rhythm and play, whilst children can play the façade themselves. Each note is assigned a colour, and every combination can produce a new surprise. With light, sound and special effects, the façade party unfolds into a joyful birthday spectacle in which the city, the Schouwburg and the young audience come together to form one giant instrument.The Fluffy InvasionStep into the world of Sien Van Acker, who is also curating and hosting the show CIRCUS!. Especially for Rode Hond, she has created a jungle of soft installations, candyfloss-pink materials, inflatable shapes and soft-to-the-touch textures. As always, you can pop into the festival centre over the four days to enjoy some utterly mad (party) installations, games, super-stylish face paint and hairstyles by Metamorfosium, information, tickets, a drink and a bowl of soup or some delicious poffertjes.
