Ciska Ciska is the project around singer-songwriter Ciska Dhaenens from Ghent, who knows how to put a fragile power into otherworldly beautiful songs. With subtle guitars and sparse piano, controlled drums and golden voice, she pulls the listener into her emotional world, where she fearlessly adopts a vulnerable stance. The music is often intimate, melancholic and dreamy, breaks out sporadically and a guitar sometimes grates a bit harder. The seductive mixture of indie and americana moves where the shadows of personal idols like Julia Jacklin, Adrianne Lenker and Aldous Harding also tread.
