Het Aglica Trio is known for its refined interplay and daring programming. Together with mezzo-soprano Sterre Decru, they create an intense total experience in which baroque passion and contemporary sound worlds reinforce each other. Not a traditional concert, but a living dialogue between voice and instrument, between past and present. The young quartet dives together into music that touches on transience, longing, and the fragility of emotions. The expressive, poetic voice of Sterre Decru weaves effortlessly through the rich instrumental texture of the trio and lifts each work to a higher tension field. The baroque comes to life with the poignant aria ‘Che si può fare’ from Arie, opus 8 by the Venetian composer Barbara Strozzi. Ook Francesco Cavalli is covered with ‘Dell’antro magico’ from his successful opera ‘Il Giasone’ – music full of dramatic intensity and theatrical flair. The leap to today happens via ‘Two Chinese Songs’ by Randall Snyder, in which ancient Chinese poetry is given a contemporary, hushed sound language. And in the warm-blooded Trio, opus 127 by Mieczysław Wajnberg, a compelling emotional layering unfolds that gets under the skin.
