Ars Musica | Beatbox Orchestra - Collectif Listening, FootboxG & Freestyle Lab

An unusual meeting is on the program. The host is 'Collectif Listening', a string orchestra from Liège that creates innovative and unexpected musical spaces. In an immersive setting where the audience moves freely around or between the orchestra, their strings make the Derde Brandenburgs Concert van Bach resonate. Anders Hillborg (Bach Materia) created a contemporary 'recomposition' based on the work, complete with a touch of rock and improvisation. And last but not least on this energetic evening: the creation of a swirling Beatbox Concerto starring the virtuoso beatboxer FootboxG and two dancers from the hip-hop collective Freestyle Lab. The creation was written by the French composer Régis Campo, whose Dancefloor with Pulsing (in world premiere on Ars Musica 2019) left such an unforgettable impression that it earned him (with a 6-year delay!) the Victoire de la Musique Classique 2025 in the composition category.
