No Yogurt for the Dead - Histoire(s) du Théâtre VI starts from the last work of Tiago Rodrigues’s father, the Portuguese journalist Rogério Rodrigues. During his last days in the hospital, he wrote down short notes in a notebook. After his passing, mainly loose words, lines, and scribbles remained. From those fragments, Rodrigues makes a tender performance about farewell, memories, and what remains behind. Music, poetry, and theater flow together in a dreamy setting in which hospital beds seem to glide over an icy sea. Each scene shows in a different way how people deal with loss and farewell. With beautiful fado music, humor, and imagination, Rodrigues searches for comfort and softness. This creates an intimate performance that touches and invites one to pause at what is really important: life, memory, and the small victories we can celebrate. Na Miet Warlop, Angélica Liddell, Tim Etchells, Faustin Linyekula, and Milo Rau Rodrigues is the newest celebrated director in the prestigious series Histoire(s) du Théâtre of NTGent. From his start with the Flemish collective STAN to director of the Festival d’Avignon, Rodrigues has been touring the most important theaters and festivals in Europe for more than two decades.
